Biography

Dr. Cynthia Sims has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, a MEd. in Human Development form Harvard University and a B. Sc. from Lake Forest College. Dr. Sims comes to UGA from Clemson University, where she taught in the Master of Human Resource Development program since 2014 in the Department of Educational and Organizational Leadership. She also was the Director of Clemson University’s Faculty ADVANCEment Office. Her research interests focus on how intersectional identities impact how leadership is enacted, received, and developed in the workplace. Prior to academia, Dr. Sims held senior leadership roles in human resources management and development in a Fortune 100 and a premier international consulting company. This Chicago native is an empty nester who loves to gallery hop and travel.
