David Schmidt

Biography

David Schmidt is an instructor in the Department of Kinesiology (Sport Management & Policy) at the University of Georgia. He has over 10 years of experience working in college athletic media relations with stops at the University of North Carolina, Florida State University and his alma mater, Grand Valley State University. Schmidt earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Grand Valley State University before entering the world of college athletics. Following his time in college athletics, Schmidt earned a master’s degree from the University of Georgia in sport management and policy. His research interests revolve around his background in sport communication with an additional focus on the emerging area of sport gambling and sport analytics.
