The book is based on a series of 6 public lectures on post qualitative inquiry presented by Dr. St.Pierre and organized and introduced by Dr. Jones in 2024-2025. Invited guests were featured at each lecture and held workshops about their own scholarship the mornings of the lectures. Those guests were as follows: Dr. Aaron Kuntz, Dr. Sophia Jeong, Dr. Saralyn McKinnon-Crowley, Dr. Martin Camiré, Dr. Alecia Jackson, Dr. Lisa Mazzei, Dr. Jonathan Eakle, Dr. Hillevi Lenz-Taguchi, and Dr. Maggie McLure.

Before joining the University of Georgia in 1995, Dr. St.Pierre had careers as a high school English teacher and a librarian.

At UGA, her research, scholarship, and teaching focus on poststructural and feminist theories of human being and language and on “post qualitative inquiry,” which she first described in a handbook chapter in 2011. She developed and teaches courses on Theoretical Frameworks for Doctoral Studies, The Postmodern Turn, Post Qualitative Inquiry, Writing Up Qualitative Research, Foucault, Derrida and Deconstruction, Affect Theory, New Empiricisms and New Materialisms, and Scientifically Based Research in Education.

She has edited special issues of journals on reading for inquiry (2024), new approaches to inquiry (2021), using concept instead of method in inquiry (2017), new empiricisms and new materialisms (2016), qualitative data analysis after coding (2014), post qualitative inquiry (2013), the state of qualitative inquiry (2006), and poststructural feminism (1997).

Dr. St.Pierre won the ICQI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2025
