Jaime Caperton

Biography

Jaime was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, and now calls Athens home. Jaime is an Academic Advisor for the College of Education’s Kinesiology Department and works with students seeking an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science and Sport Management. She enjoys helping students navigate their programs of study, find a sense of belonging, and encourages students to take advantage of all the opportunities that UGA has to offer.

Jaime received her B.S. and M.S. in Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D in Student Affairs Leadership through UGA. For her dissertation, she will conduct a qualitative study exploring female STEM students’ participation in major-specific organizations and how they shape their retention, sense of belonging, and STEM identity within their majors. Prior to joining the College of Education, Jaime served as an Academic Advisor for the College of Engineering at UGA.

In her spare time, Jaime enjoys spending time with her family, reading, taking trips to the beach, and traveling.
