Margaret Vaughn

Dr. Margaret Vaughn, a former classroom teacher, is dedicated to advancing elementary literacy, fostering student agency, and supporting teacher development. She has over 65 articles and book chapters, 7 books, and has received several prestigious awards for her work in literacy and teacher development including the AERA Review of Research Award, AERA Classroom Observation Exemplary Paper Award, ATE Distinguished Research in Teacher Education Award, and the LRA Best Paper Award, among others. Recently, she was awarded as a U.S. Fulbright Specialist by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs where she conducted research on literacy education and adaptive teaching practices abroad. She has held several leadership positions in the field and is currently an elected Board Member for the International Literacy Association.
