Ron Braxley

Biography

I was born. I’m here now. Hope to be around for a bit longer.

In the meantime, I’m the digital media producer for the UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education. In that capacity I produce videos for COE departments and their faculty, to support teaching, research, and outreach. I also conduct workshops on media production for the college, as well as teaching a basic video production course during the summer.

I attended Georgia Military College Prep and am a graduate of the Grady College of Journalism here at UGA, all during the dark ages. After serving a sentence as a speech writer for the Governor of Georgia, I worked for Georgia Public Broadcasting and at a small-market network TV affiliate in Macon, Georgia. I then engaged in a period researching the poverty of freelance work, and lived in England. Following that I answered the beck and call of Uncle Sam (and of my stomach) and served in the USAF for a period of 10 years. I’ve been back at UGA since 1996.

I’ve been married since 1986 to a woman who has remarkable patience and forbearance. No kids, but as dog lovers we usually have two canine family members. I enjoy classic movies, watching (way too much) TV, reading mysteries, walking and playing (mediocre) tennis. I’m a certified tennis nut.
